Check out the options for the Marquam Hill Connector that is planned to cross Terwilliger Parkway and let TriMet know what you think.
A meeting with representatives of TriMet and Metro to review the proposed Marquam Hill Connector between OHSU and a future Barbur Blvd. light rail line was scheduled for April 15th at the Hillsdale Library but has been canceled, like so many other things, due to COVID-19 restrictions. But we still ask our Terwilliger Friends to review the options for the Marquam Hill Connector and to send your comments to the Metro and TriMet SW Corridor project team.
Follow this link to a recent SW Corridor presentation and look at pages 28 thru 52 for preliminary designs for 2 options for the Marquam Hill Connector. The preferred option, an “Inclined Elevator”, is a modern version of a Funicular. Please note that in the pictures of the Bridge & Elevator option as viewed from Terwilliger, the view angle is looking along the axis of the bridge and elevator tower which minimizes its visual impact, …it would present a much different view if the full 266+ ft. length is viewed from the side as it would more typically be seen from Terwilliger. And if you think neither option is acceptable please let them know that too. Page 52 of the presentation has a link for sending comments to, also here: SWCorridor@trimet.org
