Stellar Volunteers at our May 2023 Restoration Event
A BIG thank you to our volunteers who showed up to tackle the ivy in George Himes Park, along the Terwilliger Parkway.
Though it sometimes looks like a thankless job, please know that our volunteer’s efforts last Saturday have not gone unnoticed!
We cleared a 1,500 square foot area of ground ivy and many park users thanked us as they passed us. Plus we protected native plants including pacific waterleaf, stream violets, piggyback plant, western trillium, sword fern, false solomon’s seal, vine maple, Indian plum, snowberry, and of course our big trees. Removing the ivy gives our native plants room to grow and expand. Yeah!
